After performing several AIX 5.2 to 5.3 migrations we noticed that a lot of the systems were changing the LANG environment variable from en_US to C. So far we haven't been able to determine why this is happening. We've opened a call with IBM support and they are looking into it for us but I thought I'd ask if anyone else has experience this as well!?

    regards,

This was something of a shot in the dark, but it fixed the problem.
