    On Windows/Linux in similar configurations (blades) we used additional software (Intel PROSet or BASP) to trunk/link aggregate two NIC's. Then we create virtual interfaces (connected to VLAN's) for private and public networks. This way we still have redundancy in case of failure of one of internal blade switches.

    If we simply have one NIC as private and other as public, in case of switch failure, both nodes will fail.

    Is it possible to have two bonds on same two NIC's on AIX? Can bonds be assigned to VLAN? Like
    bond0: NIC1 + NIC2 (VLAN 1)
    bond1: NIC1 + NIC2 (VLAN 2)
