  • 1.  Issue with huge SAP RFC trace files

    Posted Wed January 22, 2014 06:23 AM

    Hi,

SAP RFC trace files are taking huge space on hard disk in our production environment.
Just I want to understand is there any way to take control on the logging level information which can be written into .trc files.

And as per my observation we could see the .trc files are not generating on daily basis.
Some times I could see same file holding more than 3 days data. After reaching to some size(say 100 MB, not sure on it !) its creating new .trc file. Is there any way to set the file default size for .trc file?

And is it really safe to dump the SAP trace( .trc) into the Installation directory ( We are keeping all the log files under – IntergartionServer/Packages/wmSAP/logs

    Please suggest !!

    Regards,
    Hari

    Hi RMG,

    Thanks for quick update !

Currently we are on SAP (7.1.0.8.822 ) version.

We could see the issue with size of .trc files.

Daily we could see around 1+ GB information pumping into .trc files.

Is there any way to take control of logging information writing into .trc files?

    Regards,
    Hari

Sorry not that I know other than adjusting the system settings and the articles I gave above.

Also what SAP Adapter fix level are you on and JCO libraries?

It’s better open a SR with SAG support also and followup with that size of .trc is too much to manage.

    HTH,
    RMG
