  • 1.  ISPF PANEL(#PANEL) debugging?

    Posted Mon June 03, 2024 10:21 AM

Need some help ... I am trying to debug a CLIST/ISPF PANEL error using ISPF 7.7 with FUNCTION TRACES set to YES and VARIABLE TRACES set to YES.  I am getting an ISPD223 error IKJ56500I COMMAND ZSTART NOT FOUND after I issue ISPF PANEL(#ATTRS) in my CLIST.  I see a VARIABLE ZSSFS1 set to ZSTART but I do not see where any VPUTs/VGETs are issued for the ZSSFS1 .VAR.  I have attached the PANEL and the error ... any thoughts on how to debug this?   WHen I issue the ISPF PANEL(#ATTRS) does a parser of some sort try to evaluate all the options before the presentation of the PANEL?   I get the error and then the PANEL seems to function properly but we want to resolve the ISPD223 error ... thoughts?

A suggestion - the ISPF Panel is 24 records and the standard depth of 3270 model 2/3/4 displays is 24 lines - strongly recommend having fewer records in the panel in case the user has pfshow on and/or a split screen active.

I have reviewed the ISPF Panel and it works fine - there must be something in the driving clist and have called Gary to discuss.
