the issue you mentioned "application optimization" could be result of the upgrade and dont see how it was related to the whole stack.
Would you be able to articulate the roles of IHS, Liberty and data power in your architecture.

Our University is trying to match our WebSphere IT environments with IBM's preferred, or primary, reference architectures. In particular, the architecture that IBM uses to test DataPower, IHS and Liberty releases. I’d prefer not to end up beta testing a "supported architecture" that is not mainstream and is not tested by IBM. For example, we upgraded DataPower from v7.1 to v7.2 and the Application Optimization feature stopped working. I'd rather comply with IBM's reference architecture and know that when I do a DataPower, IHS, and Liberty upgrade, it has been tested and there are no surprises.
Is anyone using DataPower, IHS and Liberty in a production architecture?
