    Cifs is a thing. Mount directly a USB drive with FAT FS is another.

    With CIFS I have a running Windows, Linux, AIX system and I share a directory or a filesystem in the network (such as NFS).

    AIX not support FAT Filesystem

    I did not realize you are talking about direct mounting the USB drive to the AIX server.
