Intermittant Logger Adapter Problem using the Merant Drivers

  • 1.  Intermittant Logger Adapter Problem using the Merant Drivers

    Morning,
We are having an intermittant problem with the logger environment for IS 4.6. We are running against an Oracle 8.1.7.4 database, using com.merant.sequelink.jdbc.SequeLinkDrive (4.6.035) for the Logger Adapter.
This is the intermittant error we are getting:
[Debug] 0 println In adapterStartup(). Database exception: In EIProcess.init(). Unable to connect to the database: Error Message: [MERANT][SequeLink JDBC Driver][Oracle]ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name

Now, the problem is that we can access the userid and database just fine at the sqlplus level when this error occurs using the Oracle TNS access method. So the DBAs always tell us that is not the problem. We end up having to restart the drivers.

So has anyone come across this problem and a way to resolve it?

    Regards,
    Moya

we are having the same issues and have had them periodically over teh last 1 1/2 years. We are considering using the native Oracle drivers in zip file classes12.zip provided by Oracle.

Did you ever get this resolved ???
