Installing RosettaNet on wM 8.2 causes NullPointerException while loading WmPIPTools

  • 1.  Installing RosettaNet on wM 8.2 causes NullPointerException while loading WmPIPTools

    Posted Mon October 22, 2018 07:28 AM

    Hi,

for a currently ongoing migration we are installing a fresht RosettaNet instance on wM 8.2 for Solaris to migrate from existing Windows/MS SQL instance to Oracle Solaris and Database.

After this migration has finished we will migrate further to wM 9.5 SP1 and finally to wM 9.12.

Unfortunatelly we were not able to get the WmPIPTools functional on 8.2 (even with latest Fixes for IS, TN, RN, and eStd Commons) due to a NullPointerException in one of its services (wm.ip.file:fileToRecord).
While searching Empower KnowledgeBase there were several articles mentioning that this is fixed on several wM 9.x versions, but no one contains any information regarding wM 8.2.

Is there any one out there, who knows how to get this package (WmPIPTools) functional on wM 8.2 on Solaris SPARC?

    Any helpful hints are welcome.

    Regards,
    Holger

    Hi,

we found out meanwhile that this is an issue with the available IS Core Fixes for 8.2 SP2.

The latest publically available Fix is IS_8.2_SP2_Core_Fix14, which is causing this issue.
The next Fix IS_8.2_SP2_Core_Fix15, which contains the patch for this issue was not released publicly as wM 8.2 reached End-Of-Maintentance before its planned release date.

We have opened a SI for this issue, which revealed the information mentioned above.
We have now requested the Fix from Support so we can fix our environment to proceed with the migration.

    Regards,
    Holger
