  • 1.  Inquiry: Seeking Information on IBM Champion Advocacy Activities Scorecard

    Posted Tue September 23, 2025 06:08 AM

    Hello IBM Community,

I am currently researching about IBM Champions and their activities, specifically if there exists a personal advocacy activities scorecard for IBM Champions.

While the documents provided discuss IBM Champion criteria and contributions, none explicitly outline a scorecard mechanism.

I would greatly appreciate any insights, knowledge, or information from community members about the existence of such a scorecard or similar tracking tools for IBM Champion activities.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Antonio, Caroline, not sure if my answer applies to your question, but that is what I have understood. In your profile there is a detailed listing of your internal activities. You just click on it in your profile summary and see the results for Q&A etc.  The advocacy activities are more complicated as you know. My own summary shows 7 of 15 achieved, which refers to the options you can report on at https://airtable.com/appr7AMaQ5EWTQhV5/pag5LpRw2u0Fgcbcl/form

This is calculated into points for Engagement, Contributions and Reputation by a very secret formula :-). There are 15 types of activity you can report on as listed below, so ther is no direct realtionship between the 3 categories and the 15 types listed. As your personal reports are listed in your mailbox, you can search for those and build your own activities score card over time in xls if you like. There is no official one other than what you can see in your own profile. see screenshot.

    Hi Michael,

I am looking for a way to track my individual advocacy acts. Currently, I receive emails for submitted acts, but I lack visibility into automatically counted activities such as social media or community interactions.

It would be very helpful to have a personal scorecard that shows the number of each type of advocacy act I have contributed in the current year. This would include categories such as:

    - Content Creation
    - Champions program engagement
    - Contribute code
    - Host or facilitate and/or support an IBM-related event
    - IBM TechXchange Community Engagement
    - Marketing or Sales Reference
    - Mentoring/Coaching
    - Present a session on an IBM product
    - Press or Analyst Reference
    - Share feedback
    - Social media contributions
    - Submit a product review
    - Teaching and Research
    - User Group or Community activity
    - Other

I believe @Libby Ingrassia and her team might have access to this information. If they could create such an individual scorecard, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Best regards,

Antonio, sorry have read your message after I posted the same list you did . Absolutely correct. Libby and her team should have that kind of information and I do know they are working on that. The social media contributions have been announced to be calculated automatically in the future.

The team is working on a solution that would let you see your reported activity. The chart that @Karl Jaeger shows below is activity solely on the IBM TechXchange community platform - we DO take that onboard for current IBM Champions automatically.

For now, if you need insight into what you've done during the year and reported (what we see) you can email ibmchampions@ibm.com to ask for a report.

We do NOT currently see your social activity automatically and do not have current plans to do so. We do follow the #IBMChampion and #IBMTechXchange tags on LinkedIn and try to see what you're posting, but with the algorithms the way they are we do not see or capture all of your posts.

    Hi Libby,

Thank you and the IBM Champions fellows for your thoughts and information.

I'm glad the "Acts of Advocacy Personal Scorecard" idea resonated with other IBM Champions, and I look forward to a solution that will allow us to track our reported activity.

    Best regards,
