My apologies if I posted this awhile back ... does any use Cohesity with Informix for backup/restores? Or do you know if Cohesity supports Informix?

    Thanks!

    Hi Mark,

I was also interested in the same question, because some customers switch to Cohesity.

According to the link below, there is no support for informix.

The question you need to ask Cohesity is whether they supply an xBSA library and support that API. If they do, then Informix's onbar can integrate with it.

    Hi

Cohesity and IBM Storage Protect has some colaborations.

Perhaps there is new integration to Cohesity storage without having to change the IBM SP config to use Cohesity?

If you are looking for a transparent way to store backups, than Spictera Unified Storage can be a way to go where backups can be stored directly on the path where spfs is mounted supporting any media as backend.

    Eg

    # mount -t spfs /backup

All data is protected from ransomware, malicious users etc using WORM (Write Once Read Many) techniques.

As soon as a backup is written, it cant be changed. All content is managed centrally from the IBM SP server.

    Why spfs?

Because one can easily list, manage the backups without complications.

Seeing it does support other database vendors' products, does it do this through XBSA?

A quick search on "cohesity xbsa" didn't turn up any match...
