  • 1.  I'm looking for recommendations - what IBM i financial accounting package to use?

    Hi Guys

    It's a little ironic, I live on the IBM i platform but I just don't know what financial accounting package to use or recommend to my clients.

    So, I thought I'd turn to the wisdom of the crowd to ask what you would recommend for a typical European SME running on IBM i.

    I feel sure there are plenty out there that I've not heard of that are traditional Native IBM i apps and even more Open Source application that will now run.

    Please, only positive comments in this, I want to know good things about such applications not to trash anyone.

    I really look forward to hearing your thoughts and advice.

    Oracle's JD Edwards World ERP has financial accounting package in all the EU languages and currencies.  It runs natively on IBMi. Other ERP venders (Infor, etc.) likely have offerings also.

    If I remember correctly, Infor (at least M3) are using software from Portolan https://www.portolancs.com/en/products-services/accounting-evm/supplementary-modules?id=1175 
    Perhaps this is an option for you Steve!

    Some customers told me that Oracle is pushing them to migrate it to other platforms. Any other feedback from users?
