  • 1.  IBM z Systems Development and Test Environment (zD&T) V11.0.2.1 is Now Available

    We are excited to announce that zD&T v11.0.2.1 is generally available. It includes a Fix Pack for reported issues, along with the following new beta functionality that will be officially supported in the next release of the product:

    • RESTful APIs can be used to automate the creation and deployment of z/OS environments. The process can be done by using the data from an existing mainframe, an ADCD installation, or an existing zD&T environment.
    • Sudo permission is supported. zD&T can be deployed to a target environment by using a non-root user ID.

    Hi Adilson

     

    I'm relatively new to the zD&T environment. Currently I'm running V11.0.1, using the z/OS 2.2 ADCD that came packaged with the V11.0.0 download from Passport Advantage. Given that there already is a z/OS 2.3 ADCD available through the ISV channel, my question is, how to obtain this distribution as a zD&T customer? I didn't find any download link in my Passport Advantage portal, nor is it packaged with the recent zD&T mod and fix packages.

    Hello Juergen, 

    the next release of zD&T will come with an updated ADCD (incl. z/OS 2.3). At that time the ADCD will be made available on PPA for download by customers. 

    Unfortunately I can't give you a plan date for the next release. 

    You might have noticed in the past that  products tend to be made available around THINK 2018.

    Would make for a nice giveaway at THINK, perhaps I'm going to find a USB stick containing the DASD images in the conference materials bag Angel.

    Bad luck then... of course I didn't expect the ADCD being given away freely. However, I assumed that through magical AI and big data analytics, perhaps even with Watson's help, it would be possible to find out at the registration desk in no time whether the person checking in is entitled to have the ADCD and to, consequently, hand out a bag with ADCD or one without it Laughing roll
