(Following message is from the Adobe acrobat forum!)

Adobe has stopped support for Adobe Reader on AIX platforms.

Is IBM going to use a differnet file format for all the AIX documentation
if Adobe refuses to update the acrobat reader for AIX?

I am not interested in purchasing a Mac or PC just to read my AIX
    documentation.

    Bye,

Sorry about the previous post. Not sure how it got sent.

Although they may pull support for the reader, that does not mean that if you have a current copy that it will just stop working, they mean future development and support.

seriously. the few people with a pure aix attitude should still be able to use lx86 to run the Adobe supported linux32 binary.
