    Hi,

According to documentation option analyzing logs should be visible in Unbound Analytics menu.
I don't see this option (logs) in my INSTANA UI.
Do I need settup some flag in .hcl file?
Could someone point which option is responsible for this?

To activate logs in Unbounded Analytics, log into your account and navigate to the 'Settings' or 'Configuration' section. Here, find the logging or diagnostics area. Enable logging by selecting the appropriate option, often labeled 'Enable Logging' or similar. Adjust settings to define log detail level (error, info, debug) and specify log retention policies. Choose aspects to log, such as transactions or system errors. Save your changes and verify if necessary to ensure logging is active and configured to your requirements.

    Hi,

unfortunately this option is not exist in my version of Instana.
As you can see on attached printscreen  there are only options to integrate with Elastic search, Humio, Splunk and so on...
Similar situation is in Instana installed on Openshift.
So, I think it should be enabled at low level during installation.

Hey Lukas, can you check in the "Settings"->"Team Settings"->"Users"->Search for your login and scroll down until you see "Global Functions", select the tilde to open the setting and verify you have "Log Permissions".

    I've included the documentation link - https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/instana-observability/current?topic=instana-managing-user-access#global-functions

    Hi Jeff,

I have all the necessary permissions, and my user is assigned to the owner group. Here is a screenshot.

I am experiencing a similar situation with Instana installed in Openshift.
I am able to see logs attached to traces, and I can use the query 'CALL>Error Message =…'.

However, I am unable to find the 'Analytics > Application/Logs' option.
As I mentioned in my first post, I have seen this option in the documentation.
Perhaps we need to change something in the settings.hcl file.
I have found an option that is disabled, but it is not described in the documentation.

Hi Lukas, you are pretty close to getting this to work (I flagged some answers as they were inappropriate as they seem like AI generated bot/troll, our apologies)...

Enabling logs with Instana on OCP is documented here: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/instana-observability/current?topic=openshift-enabling-optional-features#analyze-logs. Please do note that, depending on the size of your environment and the amount of logs your ingesting, you might need to alter your Instana architecture to include another Clickhouse instance to properly balance the load.

You already looked right at the core spec to then enable the logging feature there accordingly.

    Best regards,

    Jordy
