anyone knows how to skip this error:
Method error (/usr/lib/methods/cfgsea): Failed to configure SEA with
return code 1 and SEA-specific error code 10: Detailed info: Setting real adapter ent0 in promiscuous mode failed with error 1 Since it is an IVE logical port, it is likely that
this VIOS needs to be configured as the IVE physical port
's promiscuous logical partition
btw.
lsdev -virtual on such IVM VIOS shows:
$ lsdev -virtual name status description ent2 Available Virtual I/O Ethernet Adapter (l-lan) ent3 Available Virtual I/O Ethernet Adapter (l-lan) ent4 Available Virtual I/O Ethernet Adapter (l-lan) ent5 Available Virtual I/O Ethernet Adapter (l-lan) ibmvmc0 Available Virtual Management Channel vhost0 Available Virtual SCSI Server Adapter vhost1 Available Virtual SCSI Server Adapter vsa0 Available LPAR Virtual Serial Adapter vsa1 Available LPAR Virtual Serial Adapter vts0 Available Virtual TTY Server Adapter vts1 Available Virtual TTY Server Adapter vtopt0 Available Virtual Target Device - File-backed Optical vtopt1 Available Virtual Target Device - File-backed Optical vtscsi0 Available Virtual Target Device - Logical Volume vtscsi1 Available Virtual Target Device - Logical Volume
Where are the 4 virtual Ethernet adapters defined in IVM and how can I for example reduce IVE to 1 (keep only ent2)? This is small box and only PowerVM Express so only 3 LPARs (including VIOS) can be setup.
I don't see a possiblity to remove from configuration IVE ent3,4,5...
some command line??
thx.
