  • 1.  How to install RDT 8.5 on OpenSUSE Enterprise Server 11.2

    Posted Sun February 24, 2013 05:37 PM
    Hi,

I wonder is there a step-by-step instruction on how to install RDT 8.5 on OpenSUSE Enterprise Server 11.2 available online?
I'm downloading OpenSUSE Enterprise Server 11.2 for Intel/AMD, but I'm not sure if this is the right version since there is another OpenSUSE Enterprise Server 11.2 named "SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP2 for System z".
So my question is, which one should I download?

These are all ISO. files I got from IBM for academic use (I worked for California State University of Northridge)

Any other relation information regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Chan

My understanding is that OpenSUSE is the open source, free version of SUSE and SLES is the commercial version (paid). Either one will work with RD&T version 8.5. I have been running it on both for quite a while.

Thanks a lot RDzDoug, by the way I wonder if it's required to use OpenSUSE Enterprise Server 11.2 or OpenSUSE 11.2 is ok too since from IBM websites, OpenSUSE 11.2 is listed as one of the OS.
