  • 1.  How to control the GUI language of ACS

    Posted Mon July 29, 2024 06:34 PM

    Hi there

Can anyone explain how I could change the GUI language of ACS? My Win 11 pro is set to use English (US) as display language, but ACS always ends up in German. I use a Swiss German keyboard but this shouldn't impact the language of ACS. I installed version 1.1.9.4 for all users (install_acs_64_allusers.js). Also, updating with version 1.1.9.4. didn't help. Can I change the language after installation? When I install it in the sandbox of the same machine, it ends up in English.

Now my macros are obviously stored in "Persönliche Bibliothek" instead of "Personal Library" and therefore the keyboard shortcuts no longer work. Also, all the menus are in German instead of English.

    Kind regards
    Stefan

    Hello,

    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/i/7.5?topic=package-public-properties

    CWBPRIMARYLANG

    Purpose:
Specifies the default primary language to install.
    Scope:
This property is valid in first time, upgrade, and silent installs.
    Default:
The default language will be the NLV that matches the system's locale, or what the user chooses for the user interface.

Or each client Edit -> Prefences

    Hello Fernando

Thank you, that's perfect. I surely looked through all the menu options but would never have guessed the German translation "Vorgabe" was supposed to be "Preferences". Even though it might be one correct translation I would have expected something like "Einstellungen".

    You made my day.

    Kind regards
    Stefan
