How often does IS need to be rebooted?

    Any suggestions on how often IS need to be rebooted inorder to regain memory ,resources, threads? Does once every 4 weeks sound good?

    A properly configured and properly patched IS combined with properly developed applications does not need therapeutic rebooting. We stop our IS’s every few months for OS level patching because of compliance issues other than that they are not restarted. Memory leaks, hung threads, other resource issue point to problems that should be corrected versus simply restarting.
