Data for simulations can be obtained from a number of sources, including the Decision Warehouse (which automatically tracks data from historical rule executions), out-of-the-box file formats such as Microsoft Excel, or any enterprise data source such as XML or databases. Extension of simualtion providers to additional data sources is simplified using standards-based templates.
