Starting from version V7R750 iso images to achieve this are no longer available there. As we have a lot of remote customers for which we do remote systems management I wonder if there is still an option left to upgrade an HMC to V7R750 without using DVD's or USB sticks.

It does seem logical to me an option which used to be there and we have been using for years is removed without an alternative. Info Center did bring light into the darkness, but maybe I overlooked something.

    Thanks in advance.

    Greetings Rudi.

The word NOT is missing after does ;-))

    It must be:

CD/DVD images (.iso files) can be used directly for upgrade. This feature was introduced quite a long time ago.

Fortunately upgrading to higher version can be performed via network. See document http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=isg3T1011375, section "Upgrading to V7R3.4 or higher from V6R1.3 Remotely".

When following the Server Firmware and HMC Wizard which recently directs you to FixCentral, where you have to sort it out yourself. In the past the wizard came up with a page whre the links to the upgrades and fixes could be found.

In FixCentral the upgrade images are also there, but not selected by default. Instead of names of the files you now have a description, which makes it more difficult.

    Thanks for the help.
