Hit error message AWSEMI315E, when I started zD&T.

  • 1.  Hit error message AWSEMI315E, when I started zD&T.

    Posted Wed May 10, 2017 09:11 AM

    Hello,

I installed zD&T on redhat7.2 and I use software-based licensing. When I issued 'awsstart zos22.prof' to start a z/os 2.2 instance. I got error message 'AWSEMI315E zPDTA License Unavailable for CPU 0'. So that the zOS can't be started. But when I issued command Z1091_ADCD_install to C2RES1 and SARES1, it can get the license successfully.

    The zD&T version is 10.0.1.

When I issued uimcheck, the output is as below:

The UIM client is configured in remote mode.

INFO UIMCHECK serial number entry not yet added to local data base.

    Local Host Name....... localhost.localdomain
    Local machine UUID.... 2DB9BA93-E041-11E1-BC54-DFD102E41692

    Remote server......... 192.168.122.164
    Remote server port.... 9451

The remote QUERY command executed successfully.
The UUID for this machine does not exist in the remote servers data base.
Local UUID for this machine is 2DB9BA93-E041-11E1-BC54-DFD102E41692

What's the reason of this problem.

    Regards

Issue z1090instcheck in the client to see..if it able to reach to the license manager. Have you started the server..if not start the server with UIMSERVERSTART. Also, in the client..open the browser and open localhost:1947..see if you are able to access sentinel webpage...If yes, then go to configuration tab and include your license manager ip address in the search tab..also check off the broadcast on the same page.

Try to issue the z1090instcheck in the client and try with ./runzpdt...You should be able to connect to license manager. Be sure that you have opened port 1947, 9451, 3270

I'm not sure if all is correct, could you help me check it. In my opinion it can reach the license manager.

This is the screenshot of the configuration. my license server ip is 192.168.122.164. so it looks good.

The following text are the output of running runzpdt.

grep: aprof1: No such file or directory
Load parm: CS,  Devmap: aprof1,  Port:
Devmap file aprof1 does not exist

By the way I have disabled the firewall on license server.

It seems that your installation of the zD&T client and License Manager are correct based on the answers of z1090instcheck and the correct work of Z1091_ADCD_install command.

There might be some issue related to the number of CPs in the license and the number you specified in the devmap file, "processors" stanza.

In the same "localhost:1947", hit the link "features". Paste the screen here and also the devmap "processors" stanza. .

    Following is screenshop of 'features'.

I changed the value of processors from 2 to 3. then try to start zpdt again, but hit the same error.

Then I create the aprof by create_devmap.pl, then I execute the runzpdt command. Got the following output:

In addition, this is system section in the DEVMAP file:

In addition to Adilson's response. create the devmap using create_devmap.pl script and provide the name in the runzpdt script. then execute the runzpdt command. As per the last screenshot which you have pasted, runzpdt is unable to find the devmap (prof1).

Hi, Apologies for delayed response. Could you try after unchecking the broadcast option in the sentinel webpage?

Looks like client config might be configured incorrectly. Please config as above screen to port 9450 and then perform below steps sequentially in the client.

1, Working as root, enter this command: # /usr/z1090/bin/LDKc_setup.sh.

    2, uimreset -l

3, run ./z1090instcheck to see if it pointing to right port and server.

4, Go to Sentinel webpage...and check IP address and uncheck the broadcast.

5, Wait for some time and run .runzpdt command.

    I unchecked broadcast option.

I set the client config as below:

Then I perform the steps you mentioned. When I ran ./z1090instcheck, the output was as below:

But when I ran ./runzpdt, it still returned the  AWSEMI315E error message.

    There are two questions.

    1. looks like the output of the command z1090instcheck only show the UIM server's ip address and port. It doesn't show the port of license server. so I can't check if the configuration of the license server is correct.

    2. There are several check result are BAD. But I have run the aws_sysctl to update file etc/sysctl.conf. and it have been added some records as below:

the value in the output of z1090_instcheck are different from the value in the file 'etc/sysctl.conf'.  it is very strange.

I have a confusion. Why I can issue the command Z1091_ADCD_install to install C2RES1 and SARES1. Looks like it need to get license from license server too.

You need to decrypt the volume C2RES1 and SARES1 before start using them. So, you need to run the Z1091_ADCD_Install to decrypt them. If you are still unable to configure your m/c and getting licensing issue. Please open a support request via PMR. Support team can closely look at your m/c and assist you better

A PMR will help you certainly. By the way, try to re-generate you license and DO NOT specify parallel sysplex when generating it.

Hi Yu, when you have the new license, uninstall the License Manager and reinstall it, just to clean all the files in your environment.
