    We reported the issue to IBM who basically said "don't use uptime as a determination of system loading". We use the 5 minute value of uptime to report to our alerting systems...

    Anyone have a similar experience? We don't see it on all systems, but most of them. Most are sitting at 1.0 at all times.

    Just for the record IMHO there is no direct relation between number of processes for 5 minutes (the number in top) and the load of the machine. Check the CPU usage
