  • 1.  Help with date & time format in Watson analytics

    Posted Mon February 06, 2017 11:22 AM

My spreadsheet contains a date/time format of dd mmm yy hh:mm:ss.

When I load it into Watson Analytics, the date is automatically separated into 3 different columns: one for day, one for month, and one for year. However, time remains locked into the full date/time cell. Is it possible to separate the time out from this column?

Also, how can I ensure the date and time are recognized as date and time. It would actually be better for me if everything remained together as one timestamp (including date) but I'm not sure this is possible. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I have used the excel "Text to Columns" function to break apart date-time fields.  Manual steps but it may help. 1- left justify, 2-make sure date time format is selected.  3) use "Text to Columns" manually delimit. 4) once excel pulls apart change date to MDY format.  If it has AM/PM make separate or not.  Import to WATSON ---- I hope I understand your need. ?  Jeff  301-405-3208
