I'm using midnight commander under AIX for a while now, but it looks not as it should. It's only black and white and when I force colors whith "mc -c" it shows some colors, but not like the default skin should look like (no blue background f.ex.)
Also some special characters are not shown right. The ".[^]>" in the upper right corner is a ".[^]>x" and the "<-" in the upper left corner is a "q<-".

I'm using ZOC for terminal with a "vt220" emulation - colored ls or vim is working well.

Are there any "special AIX settings" for mc I have to set?

    Thanks,

Not sure how that "ZOC" (never used it!) will behave if you change the terminal type to dtterm?

If you want to see the difference install a X server on your desktop and display a dtterm from the AIX machine. In case your AIX server happen to have a graphical console you can see it there as well (dtterm's are the standard terminals in CDE).
