Finally finished the installation of RDz. Now, when I go to start it, I get the following error:
    starting RSE daemon... -- Fri Jul 15 08:17:53 EDT 2011 ------------------------------------------------------------- java: /usr/lpp/rdz/bin/rsed.sh 335: FSUM7351 not found java $_RSE_JAVAOPTS $_RSE_DAEMON_CLASS $_RSE_PORT 2>&1

In troubleshooting, I tried java -version at the OMVS command prompt, and get "FSUM7351 not found".

Volume SBPRD3 is attached and connected. I can browse the datasets and see that Java 5/6 is there.

Any ideas on what may be causing this?

I suppose that you're also getting the message:
    IGW024E HFS DATA SET: JVA600.HFS
Interrupted during file system data sync. Probable HFS corruption.
    read-write mount rejected.
Please, check the syslog for the message.

I don't see those errors at all in the syslog.

Also, I see nothing in the /usr/lpp/java/J6.0 directory. Could it be that I have to reinstall Java? I do see the datasets in SYSPRD3 in ISPF.

Make sure the Java HFS is mounted. I usually use iShell to look at the mount table.

That was it. It was not mounting the Java HFS. Once I mounted it came up. Still have some TCPIP issues, and the RSED is running on some odd port (1033). Thanks for that advice John!

Have you checked to see if the /usr/lpp/rdz/bin/rsed.sh file exists on the HFS and if so if its permission bits are set correctly?
