Folder Permissions

We recently upgraded from 2.0.44 to 2.0.48.  When I am trying to change Folder Permissions on the shared folder I get a message "You don't have permission to perform this action. Please contact your administrator."

I and two other admins have tried to change a user's security from view to edit.  I continue to get the permission error.  Any help is appreciated.

    Hi Jason,

Congrats for upgrading, is your environment local or on Cloud. If on cloud, you cannot play with it as this is totally controlled by IBM.
    Hope this helps.

    regards,
    Srini

We are on a local environment.  We were able to change the rights before the upgrade.  I moved several of my users to Full Control.  Now I can't change users from view to edit or full control.

Jason, are you able to get to the 'Administration' window from PAW? Either through 'Administration' tile or click your name on top right corner and click 'Administer'? This is just to double check if you're still have the 'Administrator' role.

Yes, definitely an Admin.  I checked with the three other Admins we are all getting the same error when changing Folder Permissions.  I have the crown symbol on the Users tab and everything.

    Jason,

After looking at images shared, I am clear. Seems you are facing issues in granting Folder access within Workspace.

Not sure if you tested unticking "inherit properties. It works for me upon unticking the same. Believe this might help you.

Untick inherit properties to grant Accesss to Folders.

I've tried a couple of scenarios in my environments but never got the message above. It'll best for you to work with Support so your environment can be looked at in detail I think.

Hoping this is resolved by now.  But for additional reference on PAW security, please see our knowledge base article:

I am trying to replicate hierarchies within one dimension. Process runs fine with everything replicated successfully but just with one unidentified issue for attributes(alias). With everything replicated from another hierarchy into default hierarchy, the Perspectives can't find the alias (ID including other alias) anyway although I can see it and select properly. But the principal name works fine. See the picture.

    Hi Dav,

This comment seems unrelated to the previous topic about PAW folder security.  I suggest reposting this issue in it's own thread so it gets more attention.  Alsom we can't see the picture you are referring to.  Note that TM1 Perspectives does not support the hierarchies feature.

If you copy a leaf level member from one hierarchy to another then it's the same leaf member with the same attributes, aliases, and element security.  If you copy a consolidated member from one hierarchy to another then it's really a different consolidated member in the other hierarchy, and the attributes and security are not expected to be copied over.  You could create a Ti process that copies attribute values and security if you want.
