we have continuous problems with our FC. We have multipath environment so there is no impact on system, but errpt log is filling with PATH HAS FAILED errors, followed PATH HAS RECOVERED and sometimes between those two are also DISK OPERATION ERROR or LINK ERROR. It is usually with same timestamp so it maybe happen all in one second ...

Our FC guys investigated, that sometimes not configured ports on other machines sending false data into infrastructure  and causing this .. but we would like to get rid of those false alerts which are flooding our logs ...

Do you know some APAR or some setting that we could extend timeout for such events and system would stop reporting them ?

    Thank you,

I recommend you to read this great document :

Sometimes, you have to cleanup the fiber optic cable because of the dust..

I have the similar issue and it happens every time when an lspv command is executed and all the hdisk errors are on non-owning hdisks.

Did you find the solution for your problem?

    Thanks
