I have 2 groups of Drug and Placebo and the variable (Serum Creatinine) for which I want to compare the median across the 2 groups since its distribution turned out to be not ND.

When I try to run the Mann-Whitney U test using NonParamaetric Tests> Legacy Dialogues > 2 Independant samples .... it gives the following error :

(((((Warning : There is insufficient workspace memory to process all the cases. Break up the request, rerun with more workspace, or use the SAMPLE subcommand. You can increase workspace with the SET WORKSPACE command.
    Execution of this command stops.)))))

When I try to run the Mann-Whitney U test using NonParamaetric Tests> Independant samples .... It gives the table saying that :

(((The distribution of serum creatinine is  the same across categories of GROUP))))) but in the sig. column it gives nothing and states under decision ""Unable to Compute"""

I'm not experienced in statistics nor in using SPSS so What is wrong or what am I doing wrong ??

I've tried to increase Workspace in the syntax but the issue was not resolved

    Help Please

I am going to guess that you are using large case weights.  Going beyond that guess would require more information about the data.
