Error using Z1091_ADCD_install command

  • 1.  Error using Z1091_ADCD_install command

    Posted Mon August 08, 2016 07:35 AM

    Hi,

I am installing RDT 9.1 in Red Hat 6.6, I installed Installation Manager and RDT. I changed linux files as bashrc, etc. I tranferred the volumes to linux system and I already applied RDT licenses to the token.

Now I want to use zOS 2.1, so I am trying to "decode" files SARES1.ZPD and S1RES1.ZPD, but when I execute Z10191_ADCD_install command I get next message:

    [root@rdt z]# Z1091_ADCD_install SARES1.ZPD SARES1

Info:  Z1091_ADCD_install: creating file SARES1 for installation.

Info:  This procedure can take several minutes to complete.

    Error: Incorrect format: 24

    Error: Incorrect format: 25

What is meaning this error?. Where can I find the explanation for this error numbers?. Which is the reason of my problem?.

Thank you in advance and regards.

    Hi Sergio,

When you applied the update file to your hardware key for RD&T, did you use the Z1091_token_update command or the SecureUpdateUtility?  In addition is your update file in the format of upw or zip?  To do the installation for z/OS 2.1, your update file must be a zip file and you have to apply the update using Z1091_token_update command.  The old style upw file and SecureUpdateUtility, do not apply the necessary updates to the hardware key to allow installation of z/OS 2.1.

    Regards,

    Rick

    Thank you so much.

I applied my licence using Z1091_token_update as you said, and the volume was uncompressed correctly.

    Thank you again.
