  • 1.  Error trying to use webMethods Integration SaaS APIs in new IWHI release

    Posted Thu November 06, 2025 09:26 AM

    Hello all

Has anyone tried using the wM integration (SaaS) APIs to export or import projects on the new IWHI (gen2) ?

I am following this documentation to export a project: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/wisolution/wm-integration/11.2.2?topic=apis-exporting-projects

I set Auth to Basic Authentication, and provide my IBM ID credentials since that is what is associated with my tenant. I do not provide anything for the Body.
However, I get a 401 error saying "MSCP Bearer Token is invalid". Here's a screen shot from Postman:

I do have the Admin role on the wM Integration tenant prod808535.

The documentation says I can use Basic Auth. I assume this is my IBM ID associated with my environment prod808535.

The error says an invalid MSCP Bearer token is invalid. How do we get this token?

@John Carter have you tried this?

    Any info is appreciated.

    Hi @Wayne Leishman,

In case of MCSP basic Auth will not work. You need to get the bearer token and it needs to be passed as header (X-INSTANCE-API-KEY).

To generate the bearer token you should naviagte to the acces management and then under the subscription tab  select the instance and then generate  the API KEY.

    Sharing the screenshot for same.

Refer the below article for same to generate the token

    Hi Wayne!

There are two completely different sets of documentation for webMethods Integration SaaS and the titles look identical. The one you are using is for webMethods Integration SaaS (aka Gen1). You should be using this one - Exporting projects - IBM Documentation. Here it says to use API Keys with a header. The API Keys are created in SaaS Console but you need a certain role to create a key, or an admin would have to create one for you. Your best option is to reach out to the admin for the instance you are sharing and ask for an API Key.

@Wayne Leishman, for IWHI, refer this documentation (IWHI webMethods Integration): https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/wm-integration-ipaas?topic=apis-exporting-projects

Thanks @Jay Gauthier, @Vikash Sharma and @Shiladitya Pal !  I did not realize the doc was different.

I am able to get into the IBM SaaS Console but when I look at Subscription details, I see the instances shown below. I do not see an instance that matches the one I am using:

Mine is call partner-education (prod808535). I see pm-education, but if I click Open I get a 403 Access denied error.

I have Admin role in the webMethods Integration tenant but I guess Admin access is needed at the IBM SaaS console level.

The owner names are shown beside the Instances however I doubt I should be contacting this person for the key. I have a ticket open for this, and will pass along the info on how to get the key.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Wayne,

IWHI Shared Partner instance requests like yours should be directed to the respective tenant administrator so that the proper APIKey can be shared. Please, take a look at this TZ collection - https://techzone.ibm.com/collection/687fd6cfbc5429eb090e97db - to know who to contact.
