We want to migrate a particular EGL application from Mainframe to Linux. The application is currently generating Cobol to zOS for online (CICS/BMS) and batch.

When generating Java what is the target platform/framework for CICS/BMS? Websphere EJB + HTML + Javascript?

    Thanks

    Hello Paulo, Greetings.

Yes, your migration from Mainframe to Linux will work.

You will have to generate the applications in Java.

The batch programs have an alternative generating them for Vagen-Batch and then convert them to Java.

If it is only to use batch applications, I see no need for an application server (tomcat, websphere). Now if you go to online applications, you will have to increment an application server of your choice.

We did something similar ... but the output was not Linux but AIX with Power 740 hardware and we use websphere application server.

    I hope I have helped
