echoID error in SPSS 23 License Wizard on Mac

    Hi all,

    I'm trying to license IBM SPSS 23 for Mac (on Big Sur).

    I've been able to install fine but I keep getting an error when I try to run the license wizard using the following commands:

    cd /Applications/IBM/SPSS/Statistics/23/SPSSStatistics.app/Contents/bin

    ls -l licenseactivator

    sudo chown root:admin licenseactivator

    sudo chmod 775 licenseactivator

    ls -l licenseactivator

    ./licenseactivator myAuthCodeHere

    The error I get is this:

    java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "./echoid": error=86, Bad CPU type in executable

    java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -4

    Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I'm just an AdoptJDK version of Java 8, and can't seem to get past this error.

    Support Member​ SPSS version 23 will not work on Big Sur, the recommended SPSS version is 27.0.1.
