2 p520Q servers (9131-52A) each one will run Virtual I/O Server version 1.3 and each VIO server will support 2 clients (LPARs).
The external storage is EXP24 (7031-D24) has 6 disk drives, our solution is to configure the 6 disks in one array RAID 5.
Now after installing the VIO server software on both machines I ran the following commands
Lspv
The command output give me the 2 local disks plus the individual other 6 external disks.
Lsattr El hdiskn
Output give me the attribute of the n disk (n is the number of hdisk), between these attribute there is a parameter called reserve_policy.
To access the disk from both VIO servers I have to change this attribute to no_reserve
Before creating the RAID array everything work very great and perfect. And I can access any external disk from both servers at the same time.
The problem is after creating the array, of course the 6 external disks replaced with one disk specifying the RAID array. If I run the command lsattr -El hdisk, it doesnt give the reserve_policy attribute, which provide the concurrent access.
I need away to change this attribute to no_reserve to be able to access the disk from both servers, otherwise it will not work

The other question is simply is there any document saying the EXP24 is supported for VIO server 1.3??????

To make it a workable config, VIO1 and VI02 have to be on the same system.
and you can not make two VIOS with IVM.
