The story is all about how we reduced our preparation time for IT Finance reporting after using Apptio tool. Earlier, we used to check more than 100 different Excel sheets data, verify the values and merging the datasets. Also, it was very difficult to identify the errors occurring in reporting. Multiple Formulas are used to create the reporting and it is very difficult to track the formula errors. We do not have a drill option, have to create separate page for each report for main view and detail view. For Monthly IT budgeting report preparation and to validate it was consuming more hours every month.

Apptio tool has been decreased 50% our work, when compare to before for preparation and to validate the Monthly IT budgeting report.

We have different types of servers and each type of servers have separate excel sheets. We have to get all these Excel sheets to one Master table by using append step in TBM Studio. This append step made our task very easy to check and validate the data every month. Also in Apptio its very easy to track the upload errors and formulas errors. Apptio automatically throws errors is found in uploads or in formulas.

After using Apptio tool, we were able to finalize our monthly IT Budgeting reports very quickly and with 0% error in reporting.
