  • 1.  Drill through button on toolbar not working

    Hi,

    We have an issue where the drill through button on the toolbar is not picking up the last item clicked on a dashboard and so is not filtering by it in the drill through report.  So, if I click 4 filters on the dashboard the drill through report will only filter by the first three and not the last one.  If I use the right click menu and click drill through on it then all 4 filters are passed through to the drill through detail report.  We can replicate the same issue across all of our dashboards.

    The call is logged with IBM but I also wanted to reach out to you to see if anyone else is experiencing the same issue?

    We do have CogBox installed so I am wondering if it is something within it that is causing the problem?

    Hi Lorraine,

    If you suspect an issue with an extension, you can try to log using:

    http://servername:port/bi/?factoryMode=true
    With this URL, you can run Cognos Analytics with customized extensions and views disabled.

    Hi Patrick

    Thanks for this - I tried using the link above.  In Edge, the drill throughs work some of the time using this link.  However, a lot of the time the drill through button is actually disappearing off the toolbar so I can't even select it.  I am testing this using the same 6 filters and picking them in the same way each time.  Some of the time I can use the drill through button on the toolbar and then the drill through works OK but the rest of the time the drill through button disappears.

    I think the extensions are causing trouble but there is possibly that there is also something going on with our Edge browser. 

    I tried using Chrome and in factory mode the drill throughs work all of the time and the drill through button never disappears. 

    This is frustrating as we are using a number of the extensions installed in live dashboards - especially the action button functionality which has just been used on a dashboard that has gone live company wide.

    I'm not sure where we go from here.

    Lorraine,

    At this point, you might want to share this result with IBM Support.

    Regarding extensions, it is nearly impossible to have any support with extensions (shipped in the product, or from Accelerator Catalog, action button maybe from here). You can check if your extensions are up-to-date with the installed version of Cognos Analytics.

    Last idea, check if you have any extension (in your Edge browser), it might be another issue!
