Does anyone know if the latest release of Cognos supports Jupyter Notebook on Windows?

    Thanks!

    Hi Richard,
We were also waiting for the Jupyter Notebook on Windows version and it has arrived!

    Thanks @Michiel Veenstra,

Sounds like a lot of of steps needs to be taken and several components needs to be in place before the actual install.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hi Richard,

I haven't looked at the Windows installation, but using a Linux environment, it only take 10 to 15 minutes to have a Jupyter Notebook up-and-running.
Basically you only need 3 steps:

1 - Install a docker on your environment (and start the docker software)
    2 - Install Cognos Jupyter (install - next - next - next - finished :-) )
3 - Start the install script (outcome of the Cognos Jupyter installation)

After this you have a running Jupyter Notebook environment.

You can combine a Windows Cognos environment with a Linux Jupyter Notebook environement.

If you have any question, don't hesitate ask.

    Kind Regards,

    @Michiel Veenstra

Michiel, have you tried Jupyter Notebook on Windows?  is it only for Windows 10?

Is it performing the way it should?

I tested Jupyter Notebook on Windows (integrated to CA11.1.5) and it works fine on Windows 10 but doesn't work on Windows Server 2012 or 2016. Researching further it looks like Docker for windows currently only supports Windows 10.

Once Docker for windows is setup, the configuration steps are straightforward and as per the KD. The installation and startup scripts for windows are all there part of CA Jupyter notebook installed file location.

    Hi,

For those who find it interested, I made a simple installation manual for installing IBM Cognos Jupyter Notebook on a Linux system.
I know this post is more about installing on Windows, but sometime people doesn't look at  Linux, because the think it's complex.

If you don't like this post, please ignore this, but I only want to share knowledge :-)
