    yes, AIX 5.2 and 5.3 will run on the F50 (I have 5.3 running on an F50). The H50 is essentially the rack mount version of the F50.

    If you do a bootinfo -p command, any server that comes back with "chrp" will support aix 5.2 and above, but as mentioned in the previous post, firmware will need to be checked and updated prior to installing the OS.

    Yes, i have installed AIX 5.3 on F50 servers. Just remember to apply latest microcode levels for F50 and latest firmware for CDROM device.

    Remember to apply some tuning to VMM (Virtual Memory Manager) in order to avoid huge IO activity that can adversely affect the overall performance.
