    yes, AIX 5.2 and 5.3 will run on the F50 (I have 5.3 running on an F50). The H50 is essentially the rack mount version of the F50.

    The 7025-F50 and 7025-H50 both support AIX 5.3 (32bit mode) Make sure you have the latest micocode for them. I had to load the lastest M/C in order to load AIX 5.3

    If you do a bootinfo -p command, any server that comes back with "chrp" will support aix 5.2 and above, but as mentioned in the previous post, firmware will need to be checked and updated prior to installing the OS.

    Yes, i have installed AIX 5.3 on F50 servers. Just remember to apply latest microcode levels for F50 and latest firmware for CDROM device.

    Remember to apply some tuning to VMM (Virtual Memory Manager) in order to avoid huge IO activity that can adversely affect the overall performance.
