    Are you just interested in knowing the difference or that you have something specific in mind? We typically don't need to run mkinsttape. Running mksysb will take get you the image for recovery. In fact, mksysb calls mkinsttape to do some of the works for you already. If you are interested in both, you can read them since they are nothing more than ksh scripts.
