    Hi,

it is always a bad idea to delete Broker Storage Files (either Data or Configuration).
These files contain stored documents, Naming Configurations, Subscriptions and DocumentType Definitions.

Most likely you will have to uninstall and reinstall the Broker and its storage.

Make sure that the Broker Storage cannot exceed the available file system space by choosing the right footprint when configuring the Broker Server Configuration.

Broker Storage Files are auto-extending themself up to the configured maximum.

    Regards,
    Holger

    Hi Lance,

you can find the Information in the webMethods Installation Guide (for 9.5 it is page 62).

When creating the storage during installation there are 3 options (Small, Medium and Large).
The mentioned sizes in the Installer are the maximum sizes.
Please note, that the sizes have to be mutliplied by 2 when using split storage (configuration and data separated).

In MWS under “Administration - Messaging - Broker Server” you can find a Tab “Utilization” after selecting the Broker Server which shows the already allocated space and the maximum allowed space for each storage file and log file of the particular broker server.

    Regards,
    Holger

Could you confirm whether broker data file would be created freshly without losing the messages which are already there in the Broker data file?

It’s really a tricky situation. You can give a try Lance,if luck favours you can win. Any ways take a backup of Broker data file.

    Hi,

when backing up Broker data file the Broker should be shutdown before.
See Broker Administrators Guide for details.

If you have deleted the Broker data file without having a backup the data inside the file is lost.

    Regards,
    Holger
