    Seeking direction on how to install these products in DB2 v11 on ZOS 2.2. Current issue is do I also need to install  IBM TOOLS BASE FOR Z/OS to customize or begin the installation process?

    Any comments would be appreciated.

    Hello Eloy,
    I am not aware of the content of the Db2 performance solution pack.
    But yes to install tool for Db2 you need to install first the Tool customizer (TCz):
    IBM Tools Base for z/OS
    V01.05.00
    Program Number 5655-V93
    FMIDs HAHN150, HTCZ110, HAKP150, H30S240
    for Use with z/OS.
    It consist of a number of panels that enable you to customize a product.
    We have used it for DB2 Accelerator Loader and the Automation Tool for Db2.
    Just for you to know if a product is meant to be installed with TCz and for some reason you decide not to use it and get problems you might have problem if opening a case to support. For example, it happened once that for re-bind we used same jobs as the one created the first time with TCz, without running trough the entire job generation process and we had problems , opening  a case they asked us to run trough the entire process.
    So keep in mind that every time you do maintenance you will have to run through the processes again. The tricky part is the first time you set it up, then it should become easier since you have a 'Product customization library' and a 'Discover output data set' and metadata libraries for each product that should contain all information to know handle your environment.
    One more suggestion, since most of these tools use a Db2 common code (SFEC) we have decided to have the same SMPE environment for all tools and the Tool Customizer.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards Chiara

    Hello Eloy-san.

    I think that you need IBM TOOLS BASE FOR Z/OS or IBM Tools Customizer for z/OS.
    It's described below in the Db2 Performance Solution Pack Program directory(5.2.2.2 Operational Requisites)[GI10-8940-04].

    =========

    To review the Installation Requisites of the products that constitute DB2 Performance Solution Pack, refer
    to the following Program Directories that are supplied with the product.
     Publication number GI13-4609 for DB2 SQL Performance Analyzer
     Publication number GI10-8976 for DB2 Query Monitor
     Publication number GI13-4611 for DB2 Query Workload Tuner
     Publication number GI19-5019 for OMEGAMON XE for DB2 PE

    =========

    DB2 SQL Performance Analyzer and DB2 Query Monitor require IBM Tools Base for z/OS or IBM Tools Customizer for z/OS.
    Please see these Program Directories.

    You can find documentations in this site.

    It's very late as I'm reading this, but if I'm in the correct Program Directory (GI13-4650-01), on page 15, it says that HALN220 has no mandatory or conditional install requisites.   Is HALN220 your FMID?
