Datapower 10.0.4 on Docker 20.10.12 - slow response on objects in filesystem

    Hello,

We are experimenting with Datapower 10.0.4 on Docker 20.10.12 running on Windows 10. The appliance starts up with the following specs:

    05cbbf173c25, Cores: 4, vCPUs: 8, CPU model: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1185G7 , Memory: 25534.5MB, Platform: docker, OS: dpos, Edition: developers-limited, Up time: 0 minutes

Everything works great until we add the local:/// filesystem to the image. If we add just the essential local:/// files that we need, the gui lags for at least 20 seconds every time we open an object like a crypto certificate, key, or MPG. This makes it nearly impossible to use for development. This does not occur if we do not include the local:/// files. We read that this might be an issue due to us running in Windows and that we should use WSL2 instead. However, most of our developers use a Citrix environment not conducive to using WSL2.

Does anyone have any ideas we can implement to make this work more efficiently on Windows? Any insight is appreciated.

    Hi Jennifer,

Unfortunately I don't have any suggestions on how to solve your issue. I can just share our experiences for the past four years working with DataPower on Docker using Windows workstations. During the four years we have tested the Windows Docker capabilities in three different occasions and it has been hopeless battle. At the same time our developers have ran DataPower on Linux Docker and it has been smooth sailing from day one. So we have pretty much given up and just run Docker inside a Linux virtual machine. The setup needs a small amount of extra work but it is usually performed only once/workstation so we are fine with it.
