I don't think that is the entire message. Providing the full message text could be helpful. I think it will be something like this:
The join relationship "{something}" refers to the table "{some thing}", which does not exist. Edit the join so it refers to an existing table.
Presumably, the update in your FM package involved, either directly or indirectly, an object which is being used in a relationship. Is that a correct understanding? Stating the nature of the updates could also help identify the source of the problem and how to fix it.
My guess is that you renamed or deleted a query subject used in a relationship to things in the module or moved it to another namespace. This is assuming that the update in FM statement isn't just post hoc ergo propter hoc.
"...without recreating it?" It being the relationship? The module?
Off the top of my head, without any more information than what you've already given, you will probably need to recreate the relationship. You will definitely not R not need to recreate the module.

Subject: Data Module Update Error
After update in FM, I am getting error in Data Module:-
Cognos: MSR-VRF-1110 The join relationship "null" refers to the table
Is there any way to fix this error on Data Module level without recreating it? If I create new data module, error doesn't appear.
