basically there is no difference in the two terms. They both apply to the same concept: Install extra hardware (Cores, Memory) and pay for it as you use it. The Marketing name has evolved from Power4 to 5 to Power6. The current term is "Capacity on Demand" or COD and all of the offerings are described at
