COBOL - APAR PH09682: ZONEDATA(NOPFD) DIFFERING RESULTS ON A MOVE WITH INVALID DATA - example?

At our site we are planning on installing the fix in for this APAR.
We are at COBOL V6.2 and some of our COBOL programs were compiled with ZONEDATA(NOPFD) because of invalid data issues.

The APAR states: "the compiler doesn't guarantee the same behaviour as older versions for invalid data, the new instructions produced
different results when non-numeric data was used."

I want to know if we are at risk with our current V6.2-compiled ZONEDATA(NOFD) COBOL programs but I don't know what to look for.
Can someone give me an example of this "different results situation"?
