Hello CICS Community,

We are upgrading from CICS 5.4 to 5.6 and would like to understand if there are any typical requirement to upgrade all AORs in an MRO environment prior to upgrading the TORs.   Should we be OK to go ahead and upgrade the TORs even if all AORs in an MRO environment are not upgraded to 5.6 yet.  Any advice, experience, or watch outs related to this scenario are appreciated.

I have worked with several customers that upgraded from CICS V5.4 to V5.6 and they actually upgraded their AORs last.  If you are running CICSPlex, then you must upgrade the CMAS first.  Otherwise, you are good with any order.

we did the upgrade in the following way:

In our environment a TOR/AOR share the same DFHCSD, so we put the DFHCSD at V560 for TOR at migration time  and for AOR in compatibility mode adding the compatibility group to the first list specified in GRPLIST paramenter.
