    On initial wizard config, if u config dns before install CDE, and the names resolution does not work fine...when u try to install CDE, installation fail.

    Problem resolved...Create LPAR, boot, install AIX, customize (without dns), install CDE, config DNS, everything OK.

    Be patient - it will start.

    Particularly, a pain in the neck when you take a machine to a different site for example to demonstrate at an event or conference.

    I think its some legal thing like it has to send a network packet one of those hundreds of licence owners you see when AIX installs but it will eventually timeout and carry on.
