Detailed explanation of the problem:

Hello.
I’m trying to install the fix “Web Services Stack OSGi 10.3.0 Fix 14” but I’m receiving an error and I don’t know where should I start in order to fix it.
This fix was automatically checked when I installed the JDBC Adapter 10.3 Fix #20 (success).

Please, could you help me? I can still start the I.S, U.M and M.W.S.

Error message is pretty clear to me.

If you are installing all the listed fixes it should install it. If you are installing the fix selectively, add the other components that are listed in fix recommendations or install all of them. Fixes are cumulative and softwareag recommends installing them on frequent basis. If you skipped them for a long time, take a backup then install all the available fixes.

If installing all of the available fixes and still getting this error, try to uninstall the previous fix for this product and do it again.

Another thing to verify, you have webservices stack installed in your environment right? If you don’t have the product installed, you can’t install the fixes.

Sorry for my dumbness regarding this matter, but I’m not sure if we have the Web Services Stack Web being used in our environment.

Is anything related if that subject about creating a Webservice Descriptor on Designer and providing a WSDL to a partner to receive requests from them?

I just posted this topic because this error appeared when I tried to update the JDBC driver before going to the other ones. But, actually, I really don’t know about this WSS in our scenario here.

Did you select all the products and fixes or just selected some of the listed fixes? If you read the fix read me you are trying to install, you can find out which one of the products are effected by that fix. Some of the fixes are for all products, and some of them require some other fix to be installed before installing that one. If you select all, it should install without a problem. If it doesn’t, read the pre installation steps carefully first, then apply the fix again.

The preinstallation steps are pretty important. Most admins usually skip them, especially when fixes are accumulated over time and there are a lot to read. Chances are, you are skipping that as well. Read them first and make sure you have completed them. If it still doesn’t install, try uninstalling the previously installed fix first and install the latest again. Don’t forget to take a backup!
