    Tape Model DDS4 20/40
Latest firmware ( updated from ibm site )

    I'm creating a mksysb tape.
When trying to boot from the mksysb tape I get the "E1D1" code
and nothing else happens. ( the code as far as I know regards to a console ).
I can boot from the AIX cdrom and restore the mksysb but the tape
supposed to have a boot image on it so why can't I boot from the tape ?
    Any ideas ?

    Thanks in advance

    Lior

The boot image you just created might fail to boot because
the size exceeds the system limit. For information about

If so then the way you did it (boot from cd image from tape) is all you can do. My understanding is that IBM is working on the issue.
