  • 1.  Cannot create more new database

    Posted Tue August 27, 2002 11:34 AM

    Hello!

    My software is:

    Windows 2000 Professional with SP2
    Tamino 3.1.1.1

I couldn’t create more database in my system because I got in Tamino Manager the following message errors:

INOAAE0171 “Could not allocate port numbers for SQL, XML and SSL port”.

For number INOAAE0171 in documentation fields :
    1) Explanation
    2) Action
    are blank! :frowning: :frowning:

What can I do to solve this problem?

    Thanks a lot.

    Best Regards
    Dariusz Baumann

By default, Tamino has allocated ports from 3200 to 3300. If you have a lot of databases maybe you have reached this limit.
Anyway, I suppose you can change this values in Windows registry in this way:
    - Stop Software AG Services
    - Modify “max” value in “HKLM\SOFTWARE\SoftwareAG\Tamino\administration\ports”
    - Restart Software AG Services

    Regards,
    Juanjo

    Hello again,

you can do the same through Tamino Manager:

    hostname
    |
    System Management Hub
    |
    Registry
    |
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Software AG
    |
    Tamino
    |
    administration
    |
    ports

and clicking on “Modify Value” buttom.

    Regards,
    Juanjo

    hostname
    |
    System Management Hub
    |
    Registry
    |
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Software AG
    |
    Tamino
    |
    administration
    |
    ports

and clicking on “Modify Value” buttom.

    -------------------------------------------
Using this possibility, I could NOT modify database registry entry of ports value by its increasing, because button “Modify Value” does NOT work (it is in grey color so it is disable).

    Why? Do you know?

    Best regards

Have you got “Rgs_Edit” in key “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Software AG\System Management Hub\Global” set to 1? This enables modification of registry values in SMH.

    Hi Dariusz,
RNeale has give you key for that.
You can manage registry through SMH (Tamino Manager) if you have Rgs_Edit=1.
So if you have Rgs_Edit=0, you must modify it in Windows Registry (regedit or regedt32)directly and after do this you will can manage registry from Tamino Manager.
    Regards,
    Juanjo.

Why couldn’t I modify Rgs_Edit value to 1 using SMH?

Because Rgs_Edit=0 which doesn’t allow to modify anything (related to Software AG environment) in the registry (through SMH).
SMH sees that Rgs_Edit=0 and then disable all the “Modify” buttoms.
    Regards.
