IBM provides a fully integrated API Management solution, API Connect, that is considered best of breed for API solutions.  API Connect provides "out of the box" integration with DataPower, fully leveraging the capabilities of the gateway for authentication, authorization, security policy enforcement, rate limiting, and reporting.   API Connect provides a robust solution for all aspects of the API life cycle, including create, run, manage, and secure.  API Connect is available for on premise deployments or cloud deployments in IBM Bluemix and other cloud environments.

Hi, you always can. The real question is whether it makes sense. DataPower is a high secure and performant Multi-purpose Gateway while Mulesoft is an Integration Suite (like our Application Integration Suite) and Apigee a Google owned API Management product in the cloud. I would add (as Steve mentioned) API Connect to re-use DataPower's built in API Gateway capabilities or Integration Bus to add ESB functionalities. Both products are fully integrated in DataPower. This approach protects the investments (skills, acquisition costs ...), preserves functionalities and enhance DataPower's usage and therefore increases ROI. Hope that helps and regards, Peter
